Signs that you’re Unhealthy and What to Do about It

You may know deep down that your lifestyle isn’t as good as it could be. You may feel as though you should be getting to the gym more and that you should also be trying to cut back on takeaways too. There are however other signs that you need to be looking out for because in its own unique way, your body could be trying to tell you something.

You’re Not Sleeping Well

Cortisol is a stress hormone, and it usually lowers at a night. This gives your body the chance to unwind and recharge, and it also helps you to feel rested for the next day. If you can’t sleep at night, then this is probably because your cortisol hormones are still far too high. If you want to do something about this then you need to try and focus on relaxing before you go to bed, and lowering your screen time.

You’re Actually Getting Shorter

If you go to the doctors and they tell you that you are getting shorter then you may think that this is due to their poor measuring skills, or the shoes that you are wearing. This may be true, but it could also be down to osteoporosis. When this happens, your bones lose structure and you may even find that you’re more prone to injury. If you believe that this is happening right now then you need to increase your intake calcium and Vitamin D. You also need to do more weight-bearing exercises too, as this will strengthen your bones and your muscle groups.

You have a Shape like an Apple

Overweight people tend to fall into two different categories. You have the apple shape, where you carry weight around your waist, and pear shapes, who tend to carry it around their hips or thighs. Being overweight is a sign in itself that you are unhealthy, but if you have an apple shape then this means that you are at a higher risk of heart disease. The only way to get around this would be for you to exercise. Cardio is easily the best way for you to shed those pounds.

You’re Constantly Tired

Sure, your fatigue may be because you are totally burnt out or because you are having a lot of early mornings lately. It may also be because your thyroid is not functioning as it should be or because your adrenal glands are burnt out. If you want to help yourself, then it’s worth trying to get a good night’s sleep. You also need to make sure that you aren’t oversleeping, as this can come with its own negative health implications. It may also be worth chatting with your doctor to see if they can do any tests.

You Constantly have an Upset Stomach

If you are constantly battling an upset stomach then there could be a few reasons for this. There are plenty of products out there that can help you to treat diarrhoea, but it still does help to get to the underlying cause. It may be that you have a food intolerance, or that you need to make a change to your diet. If you want to help yourself then try and eat more wholegrain and cut out fatty foods.
